About a year and a half ago, Ty and I bought anoth About a year and a half ago, Ty and I bought another property just down the road from the campground, right on the Brewster River with some pretty incredible views of Smugglers’ Notch. The plan was to have it finished about six months ago… Instead, we’re probably still another six months out. The truth is we keep getting carried away with the details. Every time we finish something, we think of another way to make it a little more beautiful, a little more unique, or a little more special. Our philosophy has become pretty simple: do it once, do it right. When it’s finished, it’ll be called The Brewster River Getaway - a wellness and nature focused retreat that’s an offsite to the campground, but with its own feel. Think saunas, cold plunges in the river, mountain views, a six-minute walk to the ski lifts, and a place that encourages you to slow down for a while. Some of our favorite projects so far have been the clay plaster walls, zellige tile, seven custom built arched doors, converting the flat truss ceilings into exposed-beam cathedral ceilings (not easy!), a sunken living room, a huge treehouse-style deck, nearly 50 windows to bring the outside in, and a (soon) unbelievable wild-flower meadow. 🌻🌷 It’s been an incredible amount of work, but also one of the most rewarding projects we’ve ever taken on. We still have a lot left to do, but we wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes look at what we’ve been building. We can’t wait to welcome you here someday. -Matt
