About a year and a half ago, Ty and I bought anoth About a year and a half ago, Ty and I bought another property just down the road from the campground, right on the Brewster River with some pretty incredible views of Smugglers’ Notch.

The plan was to have it finished about six months ago… Instead, we’re probably still another six months out. The truth is we keep getting carried away with the details. Every time we finish something, we think of another way to make it a little more beautiful, a little more unique, or a little more special. Our philosophy has become pretty simple: do it once, do it right.

When it’s finished, it’ll be called The Brewster River Getaway - a wellness and nature focused retreat that’s an offsite to the campground, but with its own feel. Think saunas, cold plunges in the river, mountain views, a six-minute walk to the ski lifts, and a place that encourages you to slow down for a while.

Some of our favorite projects so far have been the clay plaster walls, zellige tile, seven custom built arched doors, converting the flat truss ceilings into exposed-beam cathedral ceilings (not easy!), a sunken living room, a huge treehouse-style deck, nearly 50 windows to bring the outside in, and a (soon) unbelievable wild-flower meadow. 🌻🌷

It’s been an incredible amount of work, but also one of the most rewarding projects we’ve ever taken on. We still have a lot left to do, but we wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes look at what we’ve been building. We can’t wait to welcome you here someday.

And just like that, our 4th season has come to a c And just like that, our 4th season has come to a close. The leaves have fallen, the river’s growing quiet again, and I’m sitting here feeling nothing but gratitude.

To every camper, traveler, musician, hiker, disc golfer, and friend who found their way to the Brewster River this year — thank you. You made it another unforgettable chapter.

One of my favorite moments of 2025 was our first-ever Brewster River Jam Festival — five bands, over 200 smiling faces, dancing under the mountain sky. The energy was pure joy. We’re already planning to bring it back even bigger next year. 🎶

While the campground now rests under a blanket of snow, our Cottage, Loft, and Mountainside Home are still open — ready to welcome you for a romantic winter escape or a cozy family getaway. Think fireplaces and snowflakes, ski runs and saunas, and that deep quiet you only find in the mountains. ❄️

We’re also now open for 2026 campground bookings, so if you’re already dreaming of campfires by the river, now’s the time to book your spot.

On a personal note — this year has been a full one. Fiona and I are expecting baby #2 in January, so Rozzi (& Waffles) are about to be big sisters. I've been working toward my pilot’s license and dream of one day offering flight tours around these mountains to our friends and guests. Ty and I have also been pouring our hearts into a new project a mile down the road, right next to Smuggs — The Brewster River Getaway — opening spring 2026. It’s been a labor of love, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

In my twenties, I was the one traveling — exploring the world and chasing sunsets. So now it’s an honor to be able to offer that kind of experience to others. Our mission has always been simple: to cultivate happiness and wellness by reconnecting people to nature and to each-other.

Thank you all for being part of this journey — see you this winter or next season! 🌲✨
